Dr. David A. Rohrer
Dr. David A. Rohrer returned to his native Montana and opened his surgical practice in Great Falls in 1995.
Dr. Rohrer graduated maxima cum laude with a degree in Biology from Carroll College in Helena, MT and cum laude with his medical degree from Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, NE. He then completed his internship and surgical residency at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago, IL. After four years of surgical practice for the United States Army in South Carolina, Honduras, and Germany, he returned to Montana.
Dr. Rohrer performs the full complement of General Surgery including cancer and diseases of the breast and abdomen. Many procedures can be done with minimally invasive or laparoscopic surgery. He began focusing on Bariatric, or weight loss surgery, over 10 years ago and is one of the most experienced Bariatric surgeons in Montana, having performed over 1,500 weight loss procedures.
Dr. Rohrer is a Board member of the Benefis Hospitals Board, President of the North Central Montana Independent Physicians Association, Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Fellow of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons, and a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, Rush Surgical Society, the Northern Plains Vascular Surgical Society, and the American Society of General Surgeons. He is the Medical Director of the Benefis Bariatric Institute.
He enjoys experiencing the outdoors and spending time with his wife, three children and their two dogs.
Lisa has called Great Falls, Montana home since 1989. Lisa graduated from Montana State University - College of Technology with her associate’s degree in medical assisting in 1995 and helped Dr. Rohrer open his surgical practice in Great Falls in September 1995. She became a certified medical assistant in 1996 after passing the national examination through the American Association of Medical Assistants and has maintained her certification through mandated CEUs governed by the association. She then pursued her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Great Falls in Healthcare Administration and graduated in 2004.
Lisa has received specialized training from Allergan in Lap-Band system patient management program in March 2008. This training program allows her to manage our lap-band patients by doing the adjustments and fills and counseling patient’s to aid in their success. She also has passed a series of examinations and given the designation of a Lap-Band Total Care Champion in June 2008. This designation recognizes expertise in the Lap-Band Total Care Program, which sets the standard for best practices in patient care. She is also very knowledgeable with insurance authorizations for weight loss surgery and has a high success rate in obtaining authorizations for our patients.
Lisa has been a member of the American Association of Medical Assistants since 1994. She also is a member of the American Society for Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery. She currently sits on the board for the Medical Assistant program at the Montana State University - College of Technology.
She enjoys all the outdoors has to offer including skiing, whitewater rafting and hiking along with her family and three dogs.
Laura was raised in Great Falls, Montana. She graduated from CMR and currently has worked for Dr. Rohrer for nearly nine years. She brings a vast amount of experience to the office as she has worked and managed her father’s medical practice as well as worked for the Great Falls Clinic and a couple of local dental offices. Her emphasis is insurance billing and managing patient accounts and she has a high success rate of appealing insurance denials for payment.
Laura has received specialized training from Allergan and has passed a series of examinations and given the designation of a Lap-Band Total Care Champion in June 2008. This designation recognizes expertise in the Lap-Band Total Care Program, which sets the standard for best practices in patient care and enables her to answer most questions related to the Lap-Band. She is very knowledgeable in all aspects of the office as she performs multiple tasks from taking patient calls to making appointments and scheduling surgery. Her number one priority is you the patient and it is evident from the moment you speak with her.
She enjoys many activities and is very active with her local church and donates her time to any cause that needs her. She is an excellent cook and on the side has her own catering business. She and her husband have raised two children and have one mini dauschund that goes everywhere with them.
